At CRC, we see ourselves as modern-day pioneers. We believe in smart growth, human-centered design, and the revival of city living.

We see the advancement of existing cities and urban cores as both a sustainable and exciting way to develop. Since our earliest days we have been advocating a modern, urban lifestyle by densifying transit-oriented neighborhoods and conserving land through adaptive reuse projects that help reduce urban sprawl. Our research and development teams continuously take a “second look” at how people live, exploring new possibilities for today’s urban dwellers such as asset-light living, micro units, and wet room prototypes. Together with the best scientists, architects, psychologists, consultants, builders, and engineers, we are improving the urban fabric in cities across the country with forward-thinking development and bold, people-driven design.

Values in Action //

Catalyzing DC's Most Eclectic New Neighborhood
What is now a flagship anchor to DC's storied H Street corridor was once a five-acre site of concrete and overgrown grass. What we saw was potential. We worked hand-in-hand with the community to develop, design, and construct the Flats at Atlas, introducing high-end modern design and an unparalleled amenity package – including the city’s first indoor basketball court for residents – previously unseen in the market. Once the building was complete, we crafted eclectic and engaging events like pop-up art shows to support the local art community; a Yelp! Fantasy Land party for elite reviewers complete with mermaids, an indoor petting zoo, and silent disco; and a month-long free rent radio promotion to draw prospects to the area. Our pioneering efforts with the Flats at Atlas helped spark the neighborhood's ongoing evolution as a dining, arts, and entertainment hot spot and have contributed in USA Today naming its H Street locale as "One of 10 ‘Great Urban Neighborhoods’ in North America.

I want to thank... [CRC] for continuing to invest in our community, playing a major role in the revitalization effort of the H Street NE Corridor.
— Anwar Saleem, Executive Director, H Street Main Street, Inc.
