1,115 Homes for Military Families at Liberty Park at Joint Base Andrews

A Closer Look //

Air Mobility Command East, otherwise known as AMC East, is a partnership formed with the Department of the Air Force. This six-year development project encompasses 1,115 homes and provided 201 new residential units, 162 renovated residential units, and one historic renovation to Joint Base Andrews. The first phase of construction replaced 198 dilapidated duplex units along Perimeter Road with 134 new duplex and single-family homes. The new housing design called for upgraded amenities, spacious floor plans, and special features, such as increased storage space, designed specifically for Air Force families. The development plan also included building a number of neighborhood amenities, such as tot lots, picnic areas, pool, and neighborhood centers, designed to increase camaraderie and foster interaction between neighbors.

It’s perfect, just perfect...My time with my family is valuable to me and from my new house, I’m close to work, I’m close to the Child Development Centers, and I’m close to the Youth Center – it’s the perfect location.
— Staff Sgt. Tammy Butler, Physical Therapist Technician, 779th Medical Operations Squadron
Without them [CRC], there would not be a Charter School at Andrews. They have worked tirelessly to make this happen.
— Mary Jette, Community Manager, The Michaels Organization
This beautiful building and the amazing teachers, administrators, and students who occupy it are testament to a collaborative labor of love of a scope I’ve never seen in my 25 years in the United States Air Force. This is going to be a great school that will offer excellent educational opportunities for the attending students while enhancing the ties between the community and base.
— Col. Ken Rizer, Commander, Joint Base Andrews 11th Wing
